How does shiki end

When he said that, I thought he was talking about losing Seishin rather than losing the battle to save the village. That was an 'ouch my heart' moment, though. A suitable ending I suppose, though, I would've liked to see Ozaki.

Everyone's basically a monster with that exception of that one nurse I like Seishin's new look. Shiki are evil because they see humans and cows and pigs, as food, and cannot live on unless they can feed off humans? I guess humans are evil too, since we eat other sentient beings. They come to the very brink of death before changing into Jinrou. Although I don't remember him saying that in the manga so it might only be in the anime.

It's still kind of a deus ex machina what with him being able to become a Jinrou anyways, I mean Sotoba has a population of less than and out of the or so that became Shiki two became Jinrou. So yeah it is kind of annoying.

Aside from that I suppose I'm the only one here who was happy with Seishin and Sunako surviving. I liked how they gave us a nice little epilogue at the end. It really wrapped it up nicer than the anime. But I wished we could've seen something with Kaori and Akira. Seishin looks so weird at the end, with his tough guy biker look.

It doesn't really fit him to well. Well the manga was certainly a more complete and arguably better version but I think I definitely liked the anime more, it was just more likable to me I guess. I dislike lelouch vi Britannia. Decent story overall although it took me awhile to get back to Shiki again after watching the anime a few years ago.

Might give the novels a try in the future but this manga maintained a good balance of the horror and storytelling. Yup, now that I am done with the manga, I am completely neutral. Both humans and Shiki were about as much at wrong in the manga unlike the anime where the humans were portrayed far more cruel and violent to the point that it was hinted they have turned insane The war was portrayed much better in my opinion. Its sad there is just no happy end.

Shiki are not supposed to exist and that's it. The force which causes humans to become shiki is at blame here, not Ozaki and not Sunako either. Seishin was selfish at the end, but it was understandable. Ozaki's actions were understandable, too. He did all the dirty work which no one had the guts to do, and for that I find him very brave and heroic. He's still a controversial being though, so its just my opinion. As for Sunako; "lonely and scared" define her well.

I just feel so sad for her I just hope she dies a painless death one day, that's all we can hope for. A coward who would complacently enable suffering than allow necessary brief deaths. In the manga he essentially tells Sunako that she has to continue existing for the sake of it, not even allowing her to follow through with her choice of death.

She might not have ill intent, but she still needed to be killed for sake of prevention, not punishment. We still need blood donations for humans, too. Think of how much chaos would occur worldwide knowing how bad things got in just one village, especially using mind control on people of political power and those with launch codes for nukes. Letter Bee Academy — 1. Shiki — Series Review. Guardian Enzo. The Humans at first had the right to defend themselves.

But what they did was nothing short of murder. Neither side looked for ways to co exist even though co existing was highly possible. The Shiki by having their numbers grow so large allowed themselves to love the advantage of blending in… Even if a few humans had wanted to murder them they could have hid themselves well, Plus the main reason the Village murdered the Shiki was because they felt absolutely threatened by the Shiki like they had to kill them all for any of them to survive.

On an extremely personal note, Tohru was one person who never should have been a Shiki. He was good, kind, righteous from a worldly point of view and loving.

If the Shiki truly wanted a village of Shiki, Then they should have made their own village instead of infesting someone elses village. And some of the Humans were really good people, Like Tohrus father and Hasegawa the man who killed Nao out of mercy.

Dr Ozakai was a monstrous prick. I was horrified at what he did to his wife, That was unacceptable and unforgivable, He deserved death as much as anyone in this show. No one ever considered a blood bank either for some reason. They could even do it secretly. Not everyone bitten by a jinrou may become a jinrou, I was just thinking that it may contribute to there being 2 jinrou born of Sotoba. Just a thought really. Really did not want Megumi to die, or Tatsumi.

Still much  for Shiki. Haha, I felt the same when I went to go comment on your posts! Happy is probably a much too strong a word to associate with Muroi….. From time to time an evening of anime is required — you can wreck your head with Shiki too much sometimes. Kanami the drive in lady is probbley the best person in shiki trying to protect her shiki mother and somehow not getting staked for that. Mr Yuuki seems to have gotten his sanity back maybe he can remarry and make another Natsuno and put it in that cute baby outfit.

Thanks for this excellent overview. Your reactions to the various characters are very close to mine. There does seem to be an odd split on the ending of the series, however on the whole I was very pleased with the series. Its not often that I get completely sucked into a series like this, and a large part of that was because of how utterly flawed the characters were — glad that someone else felt similarly to me!

I personally liked the series as well, but felt the ending at least the whole last episode happened a bit too sudden and fast. It felt a bit rushed. Many of the main characters — shiki and human — were killed off along with the town in the final episode. I guess I wanted it to be spanned out in another one or two episode and build on the story a bit more, but that is just my opinion.

I liked the fact everything happened so aburptly, it added to the sense that the situation in Sotoba had become a rolling stone that no one could possibily hope to stop. The fact that everything went up in flames is oddly fitting — fires smoulder slowly, but once they take hold everything is reduced to ashes scarily fast. Glad they made Shiki into anime.

Sorry for my long comment orz. The doctor explained that you only turn into a Shiki when you are drained of all your blood and die as a result.
