Theatres and arts centres are open throughout the year with community-based theatre companies upholding a strong tradition in regional communities. Bendigo Art Gallery is also attracting substantial visitors with its temporary exhibitions as well as extensive collection of 19th century European Art and Australian art from s onwards.

This busy dry-land farming town including wheat, barley and prime mallee lamb production is in the heart of the Victorian Mallee, and surrounded by a beautiful array of national parks including Wyperfeld , Hattah-Kulkyne and Murray Sunset National Parks with its Pink Lakes.
Explore the parks to see an abundance of drought-resistant wildflowers as many as varieties , unique wildlife and breathtaking semi-arid landscapes. Play bowls, lawn tennis or golf. The town's historic buildings, comfortable climate and proximity to the Murray River are all major draw cards.
